Ron Ramsey's homepage image just jumps out of the page at you, literally. The trout's moving through the creek grass, though done in relief, come right off the plaque. As you explore his site you will discover wonderful ideas for the architectural carver. Some traditional so inspirational. Wait till you find the raccoon perched on the second floor stairway post or the two black bear cubs holding on to the front door. Great woodcarving and a great site.

Denny's Wood
Dennis' gallery page seemed to take a while to load, 
then I realized why! Dennis Richardson is one very
 busy chain saw carver. When you visit you'll find bears, 
birds, people, civil war, and animals including coats, 
dogs, and frogs, even treasure chest ideas.. My favorite, 
the Black Bear Inn mailbox or was it the two 
American Eagles, this site made it so hard to chose
 the best, they are all great.

Ron's site is only one page long but it quickly impresses you that he is a master bird carver.  Outstanding work that only makes me want to see more.  His carved birds are beautifully poses and with so much detail that it is hard to know they are wood.

I love looking at chain saw carvings, but Suzette makes me want to run right out and get a chain saw of my own.  Her bears are not only cute, adorable, and full of personality, but they are useful too!  Check out the toilet paper holder bears and the delightful moose  - how could your or my home ever be without one..

Carvatures Relief Wood Carvings

Stephan Toman at Sonrise Woodcarving Studio website is showing some wonderful classic relief carvings worked from the historic patterns. Our favorite is the classic Fruit and Flower Basket mantelpiece medallion. Check out the delicate fret work in the Long Grapevine Frieze carving. This site is so full that there is almost too much to see!

ALAN SMITH : SCULPTOR
Alan Smith's fine art talents are clearly showed
in the wolves, dolphins and horse sculpture, but my
favorites are his nude studies, done in black walnut
and sassafras. Be sure to check out "Summer Repose"
done in sassafras a sitting nude with beautiful depth
and shadowing in the hair and "Warm Summer Evening"
with her classic pose and classic flowing lines.


SPOONLADY
Sometimes in our search for the most beautifully
elaborate carving we miss the stunning elegancy of
the very simple form. Visiting the SPOONLADY has
cured that habit forever!
Clean gentle lines and delightful use of wood grain
make her kitchen utensils more art than function.
So I have added the Pennsylvania Curly Cherry batter
spoon and the cherry wood veggie spoon to my
next wish list. It is well worth the visit just to see
the variety of woods SPOONLADY is carving.


MPCarvers Wood Carving Page
If you need inspiration for carving duck decoys this is
the site to visit. Canvasbacks, Hooded Merganser,
and Loons are decorated the pages. Plus take a moment
to check out the Grants Zebra and Foal, well worth
of it's First Place division and Second Place Best of Show
awards. Few artists can so capture your imagination
that, for a brief moment, you forget that this is a
piece of wood because your mind is "holding it's breath"
for fear that the fowl is disappear in flight.

Stan's StumpArt
OK ... What's 10 foot tall, 4 foot wide, and made
out of white pine? Stan's StumpArt! This site is just overwhelming in it's magnitude. First you are
treated to a Bear sow and her cub being treed by
a Tom Turkey, all done with a chain saw.  More?
There's lots more here, so plan to spend some time
enjoying Stan's art and sense of humor.
